About the Presenter

Mrs. Erin Hann is the current Center Director of Growing Kids Learning Center, one of nine premier early childhood programs in Northwest Indiana. Her journey in the field began as a way to gain additional exposure and experience with children as she completed her elementary education degree; however, she quickly fell in love with the early education field and the opportunity to be an integral part of the development of young children and their families. Thus, Mrs. Hann changed her course of study and obtained an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Humanistic Studies, therefore changing her professional journey and leading her to the very important role she holds today in her center, and as the newly elected President of INAEYC’s Northern Chapter.

Throughout the latter part of her formal education, Mrs. Hann became very passionate about the ‘whole being’ and the importance of overcoming dysfunction and trauma. She believes it is essential that we strive to help people fulfill their potential and maximize their well-being, and this foundation can begin during the ages of birth to five. Children require positive, present, and connected adults to lead and co-regulate.

Mrs. Hann continued to strive for opportunities in the community to provide additional positive impact in the lives the most vulnerable children. She worked through training to become a registered Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) with the family court system, as well as a “BIG” with the Big Brothers, Big Sisters Organization.

Although Mrs. Hann’s professional career is a large part of her life and has provided her with various titles over the years, there is nothing more important than holding the title of ‘mom’! She is blessed to lead and love her three children alongside her husband! In her free time, she enjoys coffee and a good book, or sitting on the sidelines throughout the state at her children’s many sporting events.
